Special equipment. Those cargoes that would require additional equipments would also need to shoulder an added rate. Say, LTL freight cargoes that would require refrigeration would have to shoulder the equipment charge. Basically, if the cargo would require many of such, then the company must make sure that they can provide such.

Discounts. The discount would help in reducing the rates. Some would be through their anniversary promos, some discounts are from being loyal customers.

Packaging is also an all important aspect in freight. Imagine a cargo that is not well packaged, this may actually be damaged during the freight. However, there are many freight companies that would offer this service because they would also want to protect the shipper’s cargo.
